The recruitment of the Scientific Assistant In Indian Meteorological Department is done by Staff Selection Commission (SSC). There is All India Open Examination for this post. The details are given below :
Post Name : Scientific Assistant
Number Of Vacancies : Total 465 (UR-230, SC-70, ST-37, OBC-128) and OH-10, HH-10 ( Reservation of the SC/ST/OBC/PH/Exs candidates as per government rule).
Age Limit : The candidate not exceeding 30 years as on 28/10/2011. ( Relaxation in age as per government rule).
Educational Qualification : i) The candidate must possess the Bachelor's Degree in science (with Physics as one of the subject) / Information Technology/ Computer Applications/ Computer Science OR Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute.
ii) the minimum marks in Degree and in Diploma must be 60% and 6.75 CGPA on a 10 Point Scale.
iii) the candidate must passed the 10+2 Examination from the Recognized University/ Board with Physics and Mathematics as a core subject i.e with Science stream.
Examination Pattern : The examination is conducted in two stages :
A) Written Test (400 marks) : first the written test is conducted. There are two Papers of 200 marks each, First paper consist of 200 questions of Objective Multiple Choice and is of 2 hours.
i) Paper - I : This paper consist of 200 questions and the total time duration is 2 hours , all the questions are objective multiple choice questions. The scheme is as :
- Quantitative Aptitude : 50 questions, 50 marks
- General Intelligence and Reasoning : 50 questions and 50 marks
- General Awareness : 50 questions and 50 marks
- English Language and Comprehension : 50 questions and 50 marks
ii) Paper - II : This paper is Conventional Type (Descriptive). The subjects are Physics, Computer Science and Information Technology or Electronics and Telecommunication Engg.
B) Interview : The second stage is interview. Interview is of 100 marks. Only shortlisted candidates who pass the paper - I and Paper - II are go through this stage.
Application Fee : The application fee of Rs.100/- ( No fee for SC/ST/PH/ Ex- Servicemen and Women Candidates ) should be submitted through State Bank Of India (SBI) Challan or by using online facility of State Bank Of India.
How to Apply : Candidates have to apply online for Part - I Registration ( Last Date : 26/20/2011) and for Part - II Registration ( Last Date : 28/10/2011) at SSC Website.
