RECRUTIMENT OF GENERAL MANAGER (PRODUCTION) IN NATIONAL SEEDS CORPORATION LIMITED

Job Description:
NSC is a Schedule ‘B’ & Mini Ratna Category – I PSU which is in the business of producing and distributing high quality certified seeds all over India, invites applications from professionally qualified candidates for the below mentioned post on regular basis. The post is available at Head Office, New Delhi

Position : General Manager (Production) - One (General)

Qualification : At least second class post graduate degree in botany or agriculture with specialization in Plant Breeding Genetics, Agronomy or Horticulture.

Experience : At least 15 years in supervisory capacity in Agricultural Field out of which at least 10 years supervisory experience should be in the work relating to production of quality seeds.



Desirable :
(i) Ph.D. in Plant breeding or genetics or agronomy or plant pathology.
(ii)Administrative experience in management of agricultural farms / Seed Production.
(iii)Good working knowledge of agricultural programmes and agro climatic condition in different parts of the country.

Age : Not exceeding 50 years as on 01.01.2012

Pay Scale : Rs. 43200-66000 (IDA). Total emoluments at minimum of the basic pay would be Rs. 98,500/- p.m (approx.) in Delhi. CTC per annum Rs 15 Lakh (Approx).

Demand Draft should be prepared after the date of advertisement and should be valid for six months from the date of issue. However, SC/ST/PH candidates need not send the DD.

General Instructions:
1. Age is relaxable by 5 years for the internal candidates, persons employed in Central/State Govt./PSU & Government Institution. SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates will get age relaxation as per the GOI instructions. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH etc. are also eligible to apply against general category and their candidatures will be considered.

5. The Corporation shall not be responsible for any postal delays. Incomplete application will be rejected. 6. Mere fulfilment of qualification and experience will not entitle the person to be called for interview. Canvassing in any form and or bringing in any influence will be treated as disqualification. NSC was incorporated with the objective to promote and develop seed industry in the country and to contribute to the prosperity of farmers through supply of quality seeds and other agro input/services as well as to enhance agricultural productivity. NSC Produces more than one lakhs tones of certified/quality seeds per year covering 600 varieties of 60 crops and hybrids of cereals, millets, pulses, oilseeds, fodder, fibre and vegetables. NSC is a Schedule –‘B’, Miniratna Category-I CPSE under the administrative control of Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture & Co-operation with 100% shareholding by the Government of India. Its registered and corporate office(s) is at New Delhi. NSC is involved in production and marketing of quality seeds, planting materials and sale of Bio-Fertilizer through its 11 Regional Offices and 83 Area offices spread all over India. Advent of NSC was a logical result of the revolution that was taking place in plant breeding and genetics. At the time when the nation was facing acute shortage of food grains, NSC became harbinger of Green Revolution. As a result, India became a food grain surplus country from one depending on wheat grain shipments from USA under PL – 480 schemes. Starting with production of 30-40 tone s of Maize Foundation Seed, NSC today produces more than 150 lakhs tones of certified/quality seeds per year covering 600 varieties of 60 crops and Hybrids of cereals, millets, pulses, oilseeds, fodder fibre and vegetable. The physical performance of company during the period 2008- 09 to 2010-11 is shown below: The Company registered an increase in income of Rs. 195 cores which went up to Rs. 493.01 in 2009-10 from Rs. 298.29 cores in 2008-09. Correspondingly, net profit of the company increased to Rs. 52.18 crores, an increase of Rs. 25.64 crores over the previous year.
